In order to stay true to yourself, you have to know who are. And sometimes while you’re reflecting upon who that is, breaking it down to its finer elements, you realise that every so often you’re peering at your reflection through one way glass. Like two sides of the same coin.
At GRACE LOVES LACE we pride ourselves on our free-spirited bohemian uniqueness, and the fact that we march to the beat of our own drum, and when we recognise that same fire in others we relish the beauty in reciprocity and the opportunity to create something new and rarely beautiful. With this in mind we are so excited to be beginning our new GLL Collaborates series – a collection of collaborations between kindreds, designed to elicit inspiration as fresh, unique and unexpected as the brides we create for.
When Sheree Commerford, ex fashion designer and stylist to the stars (you may have heard of Heidi Klum #cough #justsayin) hatched her new project Captain & The Gypsy Kid, a visual smorgasbord of bohemian luxe familial living (think Vogue FAMILY) we knew a collaboration was both irresistible and inevitable. In perhaps a sweet glimpse into Sheree’s own wedding day next year, we recently spent the day playing dress ups with Sheree and her gorgeous daughter Sugar in a run-down beach shack embedded in the bush in Sydney’s far north. Partnering with the breathtaking Four Winds Gallery in Double Bay, we played with a cool $50,000 worth of stunning antique Native American jewellery, some fabulous fur, and allowed our aesthetics to breathe and interweave.
Sheree’s style advice to prospective brides is stoic “Whatever you choose to wear, make sure it is your authentic self. Don’t wear a certain style because you’re a “bride”. If you are true to who you are- you cannot fail.”
So welcome to OLD NAVAJO: a oneness collaboration between GRACE LOVES LACE + CAPTAINANDTHEGYPSYKID; a mutual celebration of love, a reflection of free spirited beauty, and a nod to the bohemian within x
