Today I lay in the dunes
Today I lay in the dunes.
The warm quartz waltzing with the wind over my skin.
On a day more perfect than mere words can evince,
I beam as the sun unfurls its energy over my body and into my heart.
Intuitively I trace circles in the sand with my fingertips,
like an archaeologist artfully brushing the sediment from million year old bones.
And then to my awe, she arises; my silica muse.
At first as the static resonance of magnetising particles,
before ravelling like a tapestry of golden light into spellbinding sand seraph.
Flanked by infinite azure.
Gilded by the sun.
