Adam + Kellie-Anne in the Jasmine

A simple, blissful wedding, featuring our original Jasmine two-piece.

GLL: Congratulations on your recent wedding, you looked stunning! Tell us how and why you chose your GLL gown?

I always knew I would have a lace wedding dress due to my love of lace. When I found GLL online I couldn’t wait to book a showroom appointment, even if it was a year and a half out from my wedding. It wasn’t until my second GLL visit 7 months out where my Mum actually suggested I try on the Jasmine dress. As soon as I put it on I felt amazing and I just knew it was the one. I saw the look in my Mum’s eyes and she had a little tear and said yes this is the one!

GLL: So tell us, how did you both meet?

We first met at a Sunday session in Brisbane. We ended up being just friends for 9 months. Eventually it got a bit more serious when the real feelings started to arise. I finally got up the courage to tell Adam how I felt and then he officially ask me on our first date.

GLL: Was it love at first sight or was it a slow burn kinda situation?

I would have to say it was a slow burn kinda situation. I thought Adam was a piece of alright when I first met him, however the more I got to know him as a friend the more I got to see what an incredibly amazing person he really was.

GLL: What first attracted you to your partner?

When I first saw Adam I was like he’s hot and I loved his beanie and his confidence.

GLL: And the proposal? How did that go down?

On one of my visits to Townsville it was Adam who proposed at the fanciest restaurant in town just before I moved up to Townsville to be with him. It caught me by surprise but I was so incredibly happy and excited and of course I said YES.

GLL: How did you feel on your day and how did you style your GLL look?

I felt so amazing and comfortable in the Jasmine dress and I had a lot of people commenting on how stunning and unique the dress was, and that it suited me perfectly. I was so chilled the entire day and feel so incredibly happy to have worn the perfect wedding dress for me. I styled my Jasmine dress with very simplistic jewellery and Aldo tan block heels. And for the reception I added a half flower crown for a more relaxed look.

GLL: Where did you get inspiration from for your wedding?

Definitely Pinterest! And from the GLL Brides Blog. Both Adam and I really wanted our wedding to be a representation of who we are, so we made sure that every decision we made was because that’s the way we wanted it. A lot of our guests kept saying that everything about the whole day was very “US” which was perfect.

GLL: Describe your wedding in 3 words…

Simplistic, Blissful, Loving.

GLL: What was your most memorable moment?

The entire day was so incredible it’s hard to choose one moment but I remember looking into Adam’s eyes when we were on the golf buggies heading down to the big fig tree for photos and we were so so happy to be husband and wife (we even did a quick snapchat to share our excitement and happiness).

GLL: What was your wedding song / playlist?

Walking down isle song: HOLD – Vera Blue

The Signing: Tenerife Sea – Ed Sheeran; Higher Love – James Vincent McMorrow

Final ceremony song: We Found Love – Boyce Avenue

First Dance: All of Me – John Legend (cover by MISTRAM)

GLL: And where are you honeymooning?

We are heading on our delayed honeymoon at the end of the year to New York. We arrive on Thanks Giving so will get to enjoy the festive season. We’ve both never been before and are so looking forward to experiencing all that NYC can offer for two and a half weeks.

GLL: What did you find the easiest and hardest thing about planning a wedding?

The easiest thing was actually the styling. We both knew exactly what we wanted and everything came together just as we planned. The hardest thing would of had to have been choosing the wedding venue. There were so many amazing locations but once we visited Summergrove Estate and took in the absolutely breathtaking views we couldn’t imagine having our wedding anywhere else.

GLL: Any top tips or advice you can give fellow GLL brides (beauty, health & wellness, planning etc)?

I would encourage all brides to really enjoy each and every moment of the day, including the time when you are getting ready with your girls. I was lucky enough to get ready at the venue and both the makeup artist and hairstylist were so amazed at how chilled and relaxed I was the entire time. Also, when deciding on your guest list make sure that you surround yourself with the very special people in your life, the ones who mean a lot to you and who have helped you become the people you are today. We had a small wedding of 50 guests and this was just prefect.

GLL: Describe your GLL experience…

My GLL experience was perfect. From the day I booked my first appointment onwards I was really happy with the level of service and just how nice everyone was. I feel so incredibly lucky to have been married in a Grace Loves Lace dress and for GLL to be part of my special day.

GLL: What does marriage mean to you?

Marriage means hard work and dedication, continuing an amazing journey together as a team, being there for one another and making each other as happy as possible each and every day.
