What is it you loved about your GLL gown and accessories?
They are so amazing. The dresses are so easy to put on! My Verdelle 2.0 had no zip and no buttons, was stretchy and made me feel fabulous.
Did you go to a GLL showroom or purchase your gown online? Tell us about this experience.
I found Grace Love Lace on Instagram. I was in love with the style and vibe of the dresses. I made an appointment and headed off to the Gold Coast GLL showroom. The establishment of the shop is just beautiful and the staff were so friendly. Once I entered those Balinese doors and saw the shop/showroom, I straight away felt comfortable and had a great feeling. I could pick out 5 dresses that I wanted to try. And guess what? The first one I tried is the one I bought…
Describe your wedding day look…
We wanted to create a relaxed vibe with greenery and natural items. We wanted it to look cosy.
How did he propose?
We went on holidays to the South of France where my family have a bed and breakfast. One day we decided to take family pictures in the breathtaking lavender fields that the Provence is well known for. Cale surprised me by dropping on one knee, in the middle of the lavender field and asking me to marry him with a beautiful rock. It was just perfect. I was surrounded by the people I love the most, with the lovely smells of lavender and an amazing view. I loved everything.
What was your goal for your wedding / what was the most important aspect to you?
Our goal was that everyone would have a blast! Keeping everyone filled up with alcohol and having a good boogie time on the dance floor. And of course the most important aspect was to have some amazing shots that tells a story. Not staged pictures but all very natural photos.
The funniest moments on the day were…
1: When we locked in a date and paid the council for the location where we wanted to hold our ceremony and then a month later the council decided to knock all the trees down, put an ugly rail bar around the pond, and where was once upon a time was grass, was now gravel and a concrete path, without mentioning to us they were doing this.
2: Maybe all the boys taking their pants off at the very last hour of the evening and keeping them off.
What was the most stressful part to planning?
Everything ;) …. No I reckon it becomes stressful if you start to listen to everyone’s opinion. But personally I do think Cale and I were most stressed the day before the wedding as we set up the whole venue together with friends and family and tried to realise our vision with the budget we had.
Any top beauty/health/fitness or wedding preparation advice that you can share…
I always go to the gym but I didn’t change my habits or take it too seriously. I do think you loose a bit of weight through stress haha.
A GLL woman is to you…
Someone very romantic who likes the relaxed boho feeling. And is thinking of wearing something comfortable and easy going for the big day.
Any last advice or words of wisdom that you can share…
Get a wedding package. The stress of getting the decorations, setting up and packing up with a hangover tested our marriage… eight hours in ;)
Otherwise… Enjoy every minute of the day. It goes so fast and in the blink of a eye the day is over. Don’t get stressed or angry that something didn’t go to plan. The day is there and you just have to roll with it.
