How did you decide on your GLL gown and accessories?

It was the first and easiest decision for me. I have always loved Grace Loves Lace and knew well before wedding planning that I would get my gown from there. My accessories were my Nana’s vintage turquoise earrings and cuff. I hold my Nana dear to my heart and knew I had to wear her turquoise at my wedding. The hat I wore is a fun little Brixton hat with fringe. I wear hats all the time, so I for sure wanted to somehow incorporate it into my look!

Describe your look in three words…

Glowy, bohemian & unique.

How did he propose?

The big part of our relationship is adventure. It is what we live for and what we bond over. Dave woke me up and threw a photo at me and said “get up already” and stormed out (we have a playful relationship, so this was nothing out of the ordinary). The photo was a cute old photo he had taken of me with a sweet note on the back. He then took me to our favourite spot to grab biscuits for our drive up to the mountains. We went hiking in a few different spots and ended up hiking up to a waterfall in North Georgia. When we got up close to the waterfall he told me the sweetest things and got down on one knee. It was simple and beautiful, just like our relationship! I’m not the kind of girl that wants to be dressed up with my nails done and a photographer ready for the moment – I wanted it raw and natural, and raw and natural it was.

What was your goal for your wedding / what was the most important aspect to you?

The goal for my wedding was for it to be super laid back and for everyone to have fun. The most important aspect for me was the music. I absolutely love music, so I had to make sure that the songs we chose were super meaningful. As a child my dad would play Led Zeppelin for my sister and I as a lullaby, so I wanted to make sure I incorporated the beautiful music of the 60s and 70s into our wedding.

The funniest moments on the day were…

The funniest moments were during our ceremony. Our best friend Elijah married us and he definitely made sure to make it a memorable one. It was a lot of laughing and crying.

What was the most stressful part to planning?

The most stressful part is making sure everyone is on the same page. Our wedding was very DIY, so it was a huge group effort. Planners definitely ease that stress!

Any top beauty/health/fitness or wedding preparation advice that you can share…

Do your squats ladies. Especially if you get a gown that shows off those curves! A little muscle never hurt anyone. Also, lots of water, sleep, and vitamins will help with your skin and your mindset.

A GLL woman is to you…

A unique woman that lives by her own rules and walks to her own beat.

Any last advice or words of wisdom that you can share…

Weddings are about you and your LOVE, so remind yourself of that. There are so many details that can stress you out that in the end don’t matter. You want to focus on the fact that you’re marrying the love of your life, not place cards or centre-pieces. It is such a beautiful day that goes by entirely too fast – live in the moment and cherish every second!
