What is it you loved about your GLL gown and accessories?
The Megan gown is effortlessly beautiful, everything about it is perfect. When I spotted her on Pinterest it was love at first sight! The lace really caught my eye as it’s so unique, also my middle name is Rose which was a lovely little coincidence. When I got to try it on I got ‘the’ feeling, it fitted exactly as I thought it would and made me feel so special! I also had the Henri Veil in 2.8m which completed my dream look to walk down the aisle, it flowed perfectly. Let’s just say I loved everything about the Megan gown and Henri Veil!
Did you go to a GLL showroom or purchase your gown online? Tell us about this experience.
I took the train down to the beautiful London showroom, tucked away you do not realise you’re in busy London! I got the whole showroom to myself (lucky!) so I got to dance around in all the dresses and accessories with ease! (it is honestly breathtaking in there!) I even made a second trip back about 4 months before my wedding because I could not wait to try the Megan gown on again!
Describe your wedding day look…
We wanted our wedding to look relaxed and personal, we knew from day one we would have the wedding at my family farm so we hired a gorgeous sperry tent from Papakata and set to work on making decorations from items we found around the barns, both our families pitched in making bunting, signs, even tables, everything was thought of and made the day even more special!
How did he propose?
Christmas Morning 2016, it is my favourite day of the year, I love everything about it, but this one was the best ever! We woke up and had breakfast in bed, we then went downstairs to sit round the Christmas tree and Ed came in with a huge box! There were probably 4 more boxes within each other with little notes inside each one, the last was a clue on where to find the actual present! He had hidden it on the Christmas tree within a bauble, he then got down on one knee and proposed! We had such a wonderful morning together and then got surprised by both our families being together for Christmas dinner! I couldn’t picture it any other way!
What was your goal for your wedding / what was the most important aspect to you?
To be left with the best memories of our lives & we have! Everyone made the day amazing, so much joy, laughter and of course dancing! It really is the best day of your life, having all your family and friends come together for you is such an amazing feeling!
The funniest moments on the day were…
The first was probably when I walked out the house, there was a huge gust of wind and my veil and dress took flight! It made a great photo even if I did have to have my hair fixed!
Also the speeches were hilarious, Ed had 3 best men and I think they were all trying to outdo one another, I remember struggling to breath from laughing so much!
What was the most stressful part to planning?
Probably working out the timings for the day, our ceremony was 30 minutes from our reception and the day seemed to not have enough hours in it to fit in all we wanted to do! Luckily the whole day ran without a hiccup!
Any top beauty/health/fitness or wedding preparation advice that you can share…
I decided I would have a deep cleaning & hydrating facial once a month leading up to the wedding, so for 8 months I got a day to myself to go and completely relax! It was fantastic, my skin on the day was flawless!
A GLL woman is to you…
She knows herself and has her own style. She’s romantic and unique.
Any last advice or words of wisdom that you can share…
Your wedding day goes so fast! So many brides will say the day was a blur! My best advice is to take a moment to yourself and look around, use all your senses and make mental notes of different things throughout the day, it worked for me!
