How did you decide on your GLL gown and accessories?

I first saw your gowns on Instagram years ago before we were even engaged and I just fell in love with the original Hollie gown! It was a tough decision between the Hollie and the Tara, but in the end I wanted a dress that had a full lining instead and I just knew the Tara would be perfect for our mountain lake wedding.

Describe your look in three words…

Boho-Chic, Whimsical, Minimalist.

How did he propose?

We had been together for 7 years, since my final year of high school, when Josh took me by complete surprise and proposed on the beach at sunset in Scarborough W.A. It was a Tuesday and so he had put together a whole story of his parents visiting from QLD just so I wouldn’t be suspicious of staying in a hotel for the evening on a work night… After the proposal, we went up to our room at the Rendezvous where Josh had covered the room in flowers, beautiful hand-written notes and printed lyrics of our favourite songs…

What was your goal for your wedding / what was the most important aspect to you?

We really wanted to say ‘I Do’ somewhere in the midst of nature, by the mountains and with our closest family & friends. Once that all came together, the biggest concern in the few days leading up to it was the weather, but luckily we had a perfect day in between two rainy days! Couldn’t have been happier.

The funniest moments on the day were…

A row-boat full of people on the lake, speaking a language that was not English, yelling and cheering at us at the top of their lungs, right when we were saying our vows!

Me taking Josh’s right hand instead of his left when I went to place his ring on his finger.

One of our amazing photographers instructing Josh to “whisper something lovely” in my ear (in order to get a nice photo) and then Josh literally saying “something lovely”… needless to say we both cracked up and got some pretty nice photos from it!

What was the most stressful part to planning?

Before we decided to elope/get married in Italy we spent a lot of time searching for the perfect place closer to home. The most stressful part of that was trying to find something that ticked all the boxes while not breaking the budget! In the end we hired our wonderful wedding planner Noemi for our Italian wedding, but we kept our costs far lower with our pre-wedding party, our overseas wedding AND a 5 week honeymoon, compared to a typical wedding in Australia.

Any top beauty/health/fitness or wedding preparation advice that you can share…

Just don’t stress about it! I really began to overthink this and ended up putting too much pressure on myself which hindered my weight-loss efforts. Eat well, move every day and be happy!

A GLL woman is to you…

Elegant, strong and free-spirited with an unwavering confidence in herself.

Any last advice or words of wisdom that you can share…

Take some food/bubbly/water with you when you get your photos taken or you will be starving by the end of it! Haha. And just enjoy every single moment of the day, it really does fly past!
