What is it you loved about your GLL gown and accessories?
I was immediately captivated by the neckline, low back and lace cape of the Verdelle 2.0 gown. I had never seen anything like it. When I finally tried it on I was taken back by how effortless it was to put on and take off and how comfortable it was to wear. I knew I wanted to be able to dance the night away and the dress allowed me to do just that!
Did you go to a GLL showroom or purchase your gown online? Tell us about this experience.
I went into the showroom with my mom after seeing the Verdelle 2.0 dress on Instagram and as soon as I tried it on, I knew it was the one. I tried on a few other dresses at other bridal salons just to get a feel for what was out there but as soon as I entered the showroom I knew I would leave with my dress. I was overwhelmed with the beauty of the showroom and all of the dresses hanging on the racks! Bec was amazing and picked out a couple of other dresses that I tried on first and then we ended with the Verdelle 2.0. It fit me like a glove and I had a moment where I closed my eyes and could see myself walking down the aisle to Josh in it. The most amazing part was that the dress fit me perfectly – I didn’t need to alter a single stitch!

Rustic Bohemian Chic
How did he propose?
We were in Montana with both of our families for a summer trip. We woke up on the first morning and he suggested we take a hike to a waterfall just the two of us. As soon as we got to the top, he got down on his knee and proposed. It was incredibly special because we were the only ones up there, so we got to spend a lot of time enjoying the moment and just being with each other. That night as we were celebrating with family and lots of wine, in walked my two best friends! Josh had flown them out to surprise me so they could be a part of everything! The next day we took our families and friends on the hike to show them where it happened so that they could be a part of our engagement experience. Looking back, I loved that it was only us when he proposed. It made for an incredibly intimate moment we will share with only each other forever. He knows me so well :)
What was your goal for your wedding / what was the most important aspect to you?
To have the best dance party ever! Music was super important to me, I worked closely with the DJ to make sure all of the tunes – from the bridal/family processionals, to cocktail hour, to dinner and dancing – reflected who Josh and I are as a couple.
Also, we chose to do farm tables for dinner so that everyone could easily talk and meet those around them. We wanted it to feel like a big family backyard dinner with 150 of our closest friends!
The funniest moment on the day was…
We decided to do a unity wine blend, instead of the traditional unity candle lighting. After pouring our wine and taking sips, we went to set it back down on the barrel we were using as a table. The barrel was tilted ever so slightly that as soon as we put the glasses down they both toppled over. Luckily Josh reacted super quickly and was able to catch them with minimal wine spilling out!
What was the most stressful part to planning?
I honestly wasn’t stressed at all. I’m a fairly organized person and never wanted this process to make me anxious so I started by making a budget document. I listed out all of the vendors I would need and the amount I could spend. This turned into being a great checklist and deadline management tool for me. Throughout the year of planning, I always reminded myself to keep the fun and love at the forefront and that was incredibly helpful.
