K. Sean + Alyssa in our Alexandra gown

An intimate Hawaiian wedding, featuring our iconic Alexandra gown.

How did you decide on your GLL gown and accessories?

I have been following Grace Loves Lace on Instagram for a couple of years now. The moment I got engaged, I knew the Alexandra gown was the one! That summer, I traveled to the L.A. showroom with my maid of honour and my sister, and immediately tried on the Alexandra. It was everything I wanted in a wedding gown and the only one I tried on. I absolutely loved the lace and how it hugged every curve of my body. For my something blue, my mom suggested I wear blue heels. I always imagined I’d wear nude heels with the Alexandra, but when I found a light blue shade from Steve Madden I decided to go for it and I’m so happy I did.

Describe your look in three words…

Timeless, Beautiful, Perfect

How did he propose?

Under the northern lights in Alaska. In the very beginning of our relationship, K. Sean told me his childhood dream was to see the northern lights and that one day he would take me there. Ever since then, his dream became mine, too. Five years later, while snowboarding in Alaska, he surprised me during a photography tour we had took on the last night of our trip. It was -22 degrees out and we were freezing. The lights didn’t come out for hours. We waited and waited, until finally he asked if I wanted to take a picture before our tour ended. I agreed and while we were standing there smiling for the camera, K. Sean got down on his knee and asked me to marry him and spend the rest our lives traveling the world together. I said YES, of course!!! It was the most magical night of our lives, next to our wedding day!

What was your goal for your wedding / what was the most important aspect to you?

We always wanted a very intimate and romantic wedding with our closest family and friends. We also wanted to keep it simple, yet beautiful, so we focused on creating our dream wedding with a few things that meant the most to us and really represented our love. We have a passion for travel and since Italy is one of our favourite countries, we made sure our guests had a taste of something we loved, so we chose to have limoncello favours.

The funniest moments on the day were…

Dancing on the tables to Calvin Harris at the end of the night!

What was the most stressful part to planning?

Because we chose to have a small wedding, limiting our guest list was the most stressful part. We both come from big families, but really wanted to be able to go around and have conversations with all of our guests. At the end of the day, we reminded each other that we can’t make everyone happy and that whatever we decided to do, everyone would understand.

A GLL woman is to you…

Beautiful on both the inside and out. She is bold, fearless and confident in her own skin. A real natural beauty who loves adventure and fun!

Any last advice or words of wisdom that you can share…

Embrace it all. Take a moment to enjoy the little things and remember to have fun! Your wedding day and the days leading up to it should be filled with nothing but love and happiness. Focus on each other and remember that this is the beginning of one of the greatest adventures together!
