How did you decide on your GLL gown and accessories?

I actually got flown out to LA for one day for work and made it a priority to go to the Grace Loves Lace showroom there while I had some off time! I had a fabulous lady helping me and got to try on many of the dresses / accessories! It was very hard to choose one dress so I got two… the Alexandra for the wedding and the Cyd for the reception!

Describe your look in three words…

Elegant, Sexy & Effortless

How did he propose?

Lou went to school at RPI in New York, so one of the first times I went out there to visit we went on a date to this beautiful hotel / resort called Sagamore Resort, located on Lake George.  It quickly became one of our absolute favourite spots because of the flawless views.  Lou took me back to that same resort about a year later and had such a cute area planned for the proposal. It was basically a deck on top of the building that no one was on because it was during the winter time. It was perfect and extremely romantic.

What was your goal for your wedding / what was the most important aspect to you?

Our goal for the day of our wedding was that it was OUR day and to remember to be together, while still making it very fun for our guests. With the amount of guests we had (about 300), we knew that it would be easy to get caught up in conversation with people and that would cut into our time being together on such a special day for us. We definitely got the best of both worlds and got so much time together while still feeling like we said Hi and Thank you to most of our guests!

The funniest moments on the day were…

Our party bus was an absolute blast. We got to share so much laughter and time with our wedding party. We couldn’t have chosen better people to surround ourselves with that day.

What was the most stressful part to planning?

The most stressful part of our planning was the RSVPs and seating chart.  With the summer coming to an end, people were busy and some of them simply forgot to reply by our deadline so it was pretty stressful trying to reach out and get answers! Everyone was great and got back to us as soon as possible after the reminder! We also only had 8 months to plan and during those 8 months we had bought a house and renovated the entire thing, I moved my business to an entirely new space that also had to be renovated and things just never slowed down for us!

Any top beauty/health/fitness or wedding preparation advice that you can share…

Prior to the wedding I tried my absolute hardest to cut out sugars, alcohol, processed food and cut down on carbs. For my workouts I would start with HIIT training on the treadmill and follow it with lifting.  The only way for my body to get toned is if I lift so I made that a priority!

A GLL woman is to you…

Simple and elegant, yet sexy and sophisticated! A woman who is confident in her own skin.

Any last advice or words of wisdom that you can share…

Gearing up for a wedding can be so overwhelming but just take it one thing at a time and one day at a time. Setting goals for the week was very helpful for me. I made sure that I would get enough sleep and rest and not overwork myself.  Just breathe! Everything will turn out perfectly!
