How It All Began: We met in our late teens through friends but didn’t get together until our late 20’s – which was a little strange at first but turned out to be oh so right.

Their Engagement Story:  We were away for the long weekend in Byron Bay when Ben surprised me and popped the question on a secluded walk to the gorgeous Whites Beach. He stopped me on a grassy knoll on the cliff top, said some wonderful things before popping the question. I don’t know how he managed it, but there was a pod of dolphins jumping around in the water below us during the whole thing. It was quite a magical moment.

Honeymoon Details: We actually bought a house a month after the wedding so have put the honeymoon off until next year.

Megan’s Most Memorable Moment: The whole day went so perfectly and as such there are so many memorable moments. The top ones are seeing Ben’s face as I walked down the aisle, being able to wear my mother’s wedding shoes, my dad’s beautiful speech, and going off to the beach with Ben for photos at Wategos and little Wategos beaches.

Megan’s Advice For Future Brides: Try to savour every moment. Remember that things might not go 100% as planned, but don’t sweat the small stuff. Everyone is there to celebrate with you and see you at your most happy and comfortable. The lead up can be stressful, but treat each element as a milestone and try to enjoy the process. Also, on the morning of the wedding try to get a little ‘you’ time. I went off by myself for a beach walk and swim which I used to clear my head and pause for a moment and be thankful for the amazing day that was to come.
