What is it you loved about your GLL gown and accessories?
I first fell in love with the Paloma gown after seeing it on Instagram before I was even engaged and then after we got engaged I knew I had to try it on! But then I went onto the GLL website and that’s when I saw the Inca gown and I instantly fell head over heels in love with it. It is so delicate and beautiful and I just knew it was the perfect gown for me (I had never been into long sleeve dresses until I saw the Inca gown).
Did you go to a GLL showroom or purchase your gown online? Tell us about this experience.
When we went dress shopping at the GLL LA Showroom on Abbott Kinney it was the first dress Hayley had me try on and she warned me that it’s been tried on a lot so it may not fit how it should but I shouldn’t let that take away from how I felt about it. When she put the dress on me it fit like a glove and was absolutely everything I wanted in a gown. It was comfortable yet so perfectly beautiful and had so much detail. I loved the boho vibe and its really something like you’ve never seen before. Honestly breathtaking and I instantly started bawling. I knew it was ‘The One’! I wanted to wear it everywhere and it was just the sample. Hayley was amazing and had me try on 4 other gowns including the Paloma which I had originally wanted and my mind still was set on the INCA. I was so in love with the dress that I just wanted to call my fiancé at the time and tell him all about it but I couldn’t because I wanted to keep it a secret and it was probably one of the hardest secrets to keep!! The whole experience was honestly more than I could’ve dreamt of!
Describe your wedding day look…
I wanted to have my look on my wedding day simple and boho yet I wanted to feel super beautiful. With the dress I was so comfortable the whole night that I never wanted to take it off! And it’s absolutely stunning so it’s hard not to feel like a supermodel in it
How did he/she propose?
My husband and I when we were dating would always go on food adventures and make a whole day out of it. We also loved spending time with all of our friends so he pretty much put the two together. We went to spend the day in Laguna Beach and went to the restaurant The Deck for lunch. Him knowing that I would snap chat something worked out perfectly because our best friends were able to message me and say they were in town hang out and wanted to hang out with us. I had no clue that this was all planned!! So after we finished lunch we set out to meet them on the beach and I kept asking him if he was sure that he knew where they were and he kept reassuring me so still I had no idea. Then at Victoria Beach in Laguna Beach there’s a cool little light house where our friends had been setting up roses and champagne. We had finically made it to the lighthouse and I saw my friend Katie hiding and I thought it was so weird that she was hiding from us and then I finally saw all the roses and the sign that said “I said Yes!” and it all finally clicked and I started historically crying!! He got down on one knee and I literally till this day can’t remember anything he said except for “will you marry me” and it was just so perfect and so us that I wouldn’t change it for the world!
What was your goal for your wedding / what was the most important aspect to you?
We wanted to have a laid back non-traditional low stress wedding and that’s exactly how it went. It was perfect!
The funniest moments on the day were…
When I was almost all the way down the aisle I tripped in a whole in the grass but I’m pretty sure I played it off pretty well!
What was the most stressful part to planning?
Just making sure we had everything we needed and making sure everything got paid for.
Any top beauty/health/fitness or wedding preparation advice that you can share…
For beauty I think it’s super important that you choose someone that you’re super comfortable with and that you trust. I never did a hair or makeup trial with my hair and makeup stylist because I’ve known her for years and I trust her so much.
A GLL woman is to you…
Elegant, confident and beautiful
Any last advice or words of wisdom that you can share…
Have fun with it. It honestly goes by so fast and it’s not worth stressing over things that you can’t fix. Go into it knowing that things will go wrong and it’s okay if they do.
