Pete + Adriana in our Verdelle gown

A rustic, ethereal wedding, featuring our original Verdelle gown.

How did you decide on your GLL gown and accessories?

I didn’t try on any dresses or go into a Bridal shop. I stuck to my instincts, when I first saw the Verdelle on Instagram I immediately knew this dress was for me. I spoke to the gorgeous Steph at GLL, she nailed my measurements and the brief I wanted something ethereal and relaxed. A few days later the Verdelle arrived in a box wrapped beautifully. I danced around my bedroom with Mum to Fleetwood Mac when I first tried it on.

Describe your look in three words…

Effervescent, carefree, ethereal

How did he propose?

Pete was romantic and took me completely by surprise. We were on holidays in New York and Pete had taken me for a picnic at North Brooklyn Farm, unfortunately I was so besotted with the galleries in Williamsburg by the time we got to there that evening, the Farm had closed. Pete looked determined as he led me to a park under the Williamsburg Bridge. He proposed overlooking the Manhattan skyline. We were so excited we popped a bottle of champagne, seconds later, two NY Police officers fined us for having champagne in public. They didn’t believe we just got engaged!

What was your goal for your wedding / what was the most important aspect to you?

We just wanted the day to be authentic and represent us. It was also important for our lovely families and friends to have plenty of fun!

The funniest moments on the day were…

We slipped in some golden tickets in our wedding invitations for people to be invited to a Gold After Party. At the Gold After Party our magnificent Groomsman Tom, surprised us with the most incredible DJ Set. There’s no substitute for experiencing a skilled DJ like Tom in a killer space, mixing live.

What was the most stressful part to planning?

We were living rurally in Deniliquin at the time and wanted to celebrate what was local, so chose unconventional spaces -under a hay shed on my parent’s farm and an unused warehouse. We did everything ourselves over our 6 month engagement and it took a lot of gritty work getting these spaces ‘wedding ready.’ My dad was really sweet with helping us.

Any top beauty/health/fitness or wedding preparation advice that you can share…

The whole process was really uplifting. At first I was quite intimated, as I am not a girly girl, and had not considered what I would do for my wedding. I actually got in contact with Heidi who looked so radiant on the GLL Real Wedding blog and she gave me some incredible advice. This led me to Georgina Alexandra who was so generous with her time and introduced me to organic, eco products which transformed my skin.

A GLL woman is to you…

Strong. Rebellious. Radiant.

Any last advice or words of wisdom that you can share…
