How did you decide on your GLL gown and accessories?

I knew I wanted lace so it was just trying to find the right Grace Loves Lace dress that suited my body and personality. I wanted something that was timeless and romantic, and when I tried the Francis gown on I didn’t want to take it off. I felt so confident and comfortable, and when I looked in the mirror I noticed how big my smile was, that’s when I knew it was the one. I had my Mum and Sister there with me as well and they noticed the same thing. The detailing of the sleeves and floral embroidery was such a standout, and was definitely what I was drawn to most. I opted for a pair of pearl drop earrings and wore Nicholas Kirkwood sparkly heels with pearl detailing on them to finish off the look. I loved my dress so much.

Describe your look in three words…

Elegant, Feminine and Timeless…

How did he propose?

Rhys and I were travelling through California at the time and were heading to Lake Tahoe. Both of us love travelling to new places and Lake Tahoe was the next spot on our bucket list. We spent the day stopping at all different spots around the Lake to take in the insanely beautiful scenery and eventually arrived at Emerald Bay. We nestled ourselves in between a rocky little waterfall to just chill out for a bit and take in the views. We were so rugged up and Rhys had asked me if I thought this was the most beautiful place I had ever been to, I think he knew I was going to say yes and to him that meant he had found “his spot”. Rhys knelt down on one knee and proposed and of course I said yes. We both burst into tears, I was shaking and just happy. Everything in that moment could not have been any more perfect, there was no one around and time just paused for us… We headed to New York the next day and the celebrations began.

What was your goal for your wedding / what was the most important aspect to you?

Just to have fun with the people that matter most to us in a beautiful hinterland setting.

The funniest moments on the day were…

Rhys’s groomsmen read his speech off a butternut pumpkin, it was totally random and so hilarious, everyone was in tears. Rhys is pretty quirky and they both have a weird but funny sense of humour. It had everyone in the room in stitches!

What was the most stressful part to planning?

Not having a wedding planner… I wish I did this. Everything worked out wonderfully however there were so many little things I didn’t even consider when I started my planning. So if you can hire someone experienced to help you do so, you will save a lot of time.

Any top beauty/health/fitness or wedding preparation advice that you can share…

Yes, to really look after you skin in the lead up. I started doing facials regularly around 6 months out. I could really tell a big difference in my skin and when it was glowing I felt great… Regular exercise and lots of water. When you feel good on the inside you glow on the outside.

A GLL woman is to you…

Confident, graceful and effortless

Any last advice or words of wisdom that you can share…

Be as present as you can with the whole process, planning the day and the lead up is so exciting. Before you know it you are reminiscing wishing you could re-live it all again. I would definitely recommend getting a videographer. Also, try not to loose sight of what the whole day is about, it’s about you marrying your best friend and sharing that celebration with all your closest friends and family.
