An elegant Californian wedding, featuring our Nia 2.0 gown.

Grace Loves Lace

How did you decide on your GLL gown and accessories?

From the moment I walked into the beautiful LA showroom, I knew I was meant to be a GLL Bride. My Grace Loves Lace stylist, Bec Radnell, made my experience so special and fun (did I mention she brought out champagne and macarons)? After trying on a couple of dresses that I loved but never felt like “this is the one”, my mom picked out the Nia 2.0 dress and wanted to see me in it. I loved its simple elegance and feminine shape and knew as soon as I put it on it was the dress for me. I felt everything that I wanted to feel in my wedding dress; confident, chic and beautiful. I accessorised my dress with Adriana Orsini earrings and Jimmy Choo heals that were both gifted to me from my dear friend.

Describe your look in three words…

Feminine, effortless, unique.

How did he propose?

Ryan proposed on September 3, 2016 in Portland, OR at Wahclella Falls. It was magical! We hiked to the base of the waterfall and I had given a girl my phone to take a picture of us. Next thing I know Ryan was down on one knee and the rest is a blur. Of course, I became weak at the knees and cried YES!

What was your goal for your wedding / what was the most important aspect to you?

The most important aspect was simply to celebrate our love with our families and closest friends. The goal was to be stress free and to take a step back to just feel every emotion. Overall, we wanted a memorable ceremony, great food and delicious cocktails for all our guests to enjoy. We couldn’t be happier with the vibe on the day; we felt so much love from everyone!

The funniest moments on the day were…

Our family and friends are hilarious! They had us laughing throughout the entire day!

What was the most stressful part to planning?

Honestly, we were never really stressed! I think in the beginning it was difficult for us to find a venue and location that we both felt was “right” but after we found it, everything fell into place. Ryan and I both focused on what a marriage is about and did not want to get wrapped up in the chaos of planning. We were just so excited to join our lives together as husband and wife and that was our emphasis. Whenever I did start to stress towards the end, my dear friend Kim handled EVERYTHING with such poise. I knew we were in good hands!

Any top beauty/health/fitness or wedding preparation advice that you can share…

I live an active and healthy lifestyle as is by working out, eating well, drinking plenty of water and daily walks with our dogs. My best advice is to simply be who you are and not get caught up in what you are supposed to look like on your wedding day. I took off the week of work leading up to our wedding and pampered myself! I felt completely calm and stress-free on our big day. Remember- there is nothing lovelier than then a woman on her wedding day who is happy, healthy and relaxed.

A GLL woman is to you…

Natural, carefree and feminine. A woman who is their true authentic self. A bride whom radiates confidence in wearing something not ultra-traditional and is unique.

Any last advice or words of wisdom that you can share…

Have fun and cherish every moment. Don’t forget what a wedding is truly about! Ultimately, you are marrying your best friend and life partner and there is no greater joy! I remember multiple times throughout our wedding day feeling this overwhelming sense of gratitude being surrounding by our families and closest friends. Love hard, be present and enjoy yourselves!
