How did you decide on your GLL gown and accessories?

I decided on the Gia gown because of how comfy and effortless it was, yet it still made a statement.  I didn’t want to be drowned in fabric and I wanted to still look like myself while walking down the aisle. I love to dance and wanted something that was comfy and easy to move in, but also fitted with the perfect amount of sexy, which is why I love the slit and deep V cut in the front. I also wanted an effortless boho chic vibe and the floral lace with the Tribe anklets felt like the perfect match. I loved how the slit made it not your typical wedding dress that usually covers the legs. My favourite part about the dress was the train. It was so fun to hold and twirl around in and then be able to bustle it up into the romantic, playful ruffles. It was like having two dresses in one!

Describe your look in three words…

Chic, classic and boho.

How did he propose?

Taylor proposed on a Saturday afternoon at our home with our two dogs. I was in the bedroom getting ready to meet up with our friends at a mac n cheese festival and while I was putting on makeup Taylor grabbed me and we started slow dancing . Before I knew it he was on one knee.  I had no idea and it was the easiest “yes”of my life.

What was your goal for your wedding / what was the most important aspect to you?

The goal for our wedding was to stay true to who we were as a couple and as individuals. He was from Fresno and my entire family is from England so we picked a venue on a ranch with an English farmhouse. It was the best of both worlds in wanting to have a rustic boho wedding in California to make it feel like home, but also having the English roots. We kept our food casual with tacos, mac n cheese, fries and burgers. We also had fresh mini donuts instead of cake. We wanted a relaxed and casual backyard bbq type of feel.  We wanted natural and beautiful surroundings to be the decor, so the wildflowers and green rolling hills were a perfect fit.  We wanted our guests to feel welcome and  comfortable.  We wanted to make it a celebration not only about us and our love, but about all the guests who we love and support our love as well!  We wanted the wedding to be as memorable for the guests as it was for us.

The funniest moments on the day were…

The funniest moments on the day were probably the ceremony because my little brother married us and he brought so much humour to the ceremony with his sibling jokes. Also, the maid of honour fell in a gopher hole while taking bridal party pictures.

What was the most stressful part to planning?

The most stressful part to planning was the DJ.bNot in the sense of hiring him, but stressing to make sure he will be a good fit and keep the dance party going, while also respecting our wishes with the music we like and dislike. Lets just say he nailed it and the reception shots happen to be our favourite of the bunch. I would have to say the least fun part and most consuming time wise was the seating chart in deciding who sits where.

Any top beauty/health/fitness or wedding preparation advice that you can share…

Secrets I would share are to make sure to drink lots and lots of water the week of to keep the skin hydrated and glowing for the makeup to sit well. Avoid alcohol the night before. A hangover and being puffy isn’t worth it and there will be plenty of booze at the wedding ;) Worth the wait to get a good night sleep before and be on your A game for the real party! I also wore no makeup the week of the wedding to let my skin breathe. Be careful of sunburn. Better to be safe and a bit pale than sunburnt trying to get some colour.

A GLL woman is to you…

Someone who is confident with herself and confident in her soulmate.  She is confident in who they are as a team.  She believes in love wholeheartedly.  She has a carefree wild spirt. You keep her safe and she’ll keep you wild.

Any last advice or words of wisdom that you can share…

Don’t get caught up in the insignificant details of planning. Trust your vendors to do their job and just focus on the love you two have a s a couple. The wedding is about the new adventure you two are about to embark on. The day flies by so soak up every moment. No one will remember what colour your linens were, but they will remember the love and happiness that was shared that day xoxo
