Tom + Amber in the Lily

An elegant, rustic wedding, featuring our effortless Lily gown.

How did you decide on your GLL gown and accessories?

I saw the Lily gown while browsing online about a month after we became engaged. I loved its simple elegance and feminine shape and knew as soon as I saw it that it was the dress for me. I never tried on other dresses. I chose the GLL Asha moonstone earrings as I loved their un-refined raw look and the way that the moonstones caught the light.

Describe your look in three words…

Paired-back, soft, feminine.

How did he propose?

Tom proposed down at our favourite beach with our two labradors. Even after 9 years together we were so nervous. Tom could barely get the words out and I literally became weak at the knees (after forgetting to say yes).

What was your goal for your wedding / what was the most important aspect to you?

Neither of us like too much of a fuss so we wanted to keep the day as relaxed as possible. We wanted delicious food and hoped that our friends and family would spend most of the night on the dance floor. it was very important to us that all of the little touches represented us as a couple and that everyone felt the love!

What was the most stressful part to planning?

The planning process was pretty stress free and the professionals we dealt with were wonderful. We had some last minute stress (as you do!) when the day before the wedding our celebrant called to inform us she couldn’t make it to the rehearsal. We didn’t know how the ceremony was going to run so had to wing it!

Any top beauty/health/fitness or wedding preparation advice that you can share…

I think it is very easy to become caught up in dieting and looking a certain way on your wedding day. I tried not to change my usual routine too much. I made sure I was having plenty of water and sleep and went for a few morning jogs with my brother the week before to get the endorphins going. There is nothing more beautiful than a woman on her wedding day who is healthy, happy and relaxed.

A GLL woman is to you…

Someone who is at ease with herself, a free spirit and a little unconventional

Any last advice or words of wisdom that you can share…

Don’t stress about the fine details or put too much pressure on yourself. No one will remember your table flower arrangements but the memories of the fun, love and laughter will last for years to come.
