How did you decide on your GLL gown and accessories?

Our wedding Stylist Elin Wallmander suggested your brand to me. The first time I visited the GLL website I fell in love with the Francis gown at first sight, and ditched all my other alternatives then and there.

Describe your look in three words…

Bohemic, Delectable, Effortless.

How did he propose?

Ok, so Torbjörn and I were a couple in high school and continued dating for a few years until we decided to go on our separate paths. I moved away from Sweden and we lost touch. 10 years later, we started talking again, we both realized that we really missed each other and needed to come back ”home” to one another. After we had been dating again for 2 years or so, he took me to a viewpoint where we used to hang out in high school, it’s a less known one just in front of a parking lot, looking out over a rather dodgy end of our city. We used to go there in high school and just talk and make out. So when he took me there I instantly got in a chatty mood and started going on and on about random stuff. Then I realized he was awfully silent and pretty nervous. So I asked him what was up and that’s when he proposed. At that point he had been carrying the ring for almost a month, and was pretty relieved to get a yes.

What was your goal for your wedding / what was the most important aspect to you?

To celebrate our bond as a couple and to make our guests feel honoured and appreciated as the special people they are in our lives.

The funniest moments on the day were…

Taking the group picture with all the guests, everyone was instructed to keep a straight serious face.

The bridesmaids performed a Persian knife dance before we served the cake. My side of the family is originally from Iran and there they have a tradition of dancing around seductively with a big knife before the couple cuts the cake.

The reception dinner was definitely the high light for me, we had our own sweetheart table with stools where our friends could come and sit and talk to us spontaneously during the dinner.

What was the most stressful part to planning?

Obsessively checking weather forecasts on all possible apps and having to be a little restrictive about who we invited.

Any top beauty/health/fitness or wedding preparation advice that you can share…

Do yoga. Choose a gown that compliments your figure the way that it is. Something that you feel great wearing right now. Any ”improvements” on your figure should just be a bonus. Do NOT count on losing weight for the special day. Unless you want to add 100% stress to the already huge undertaking that it is to plan your own wedding.

A GLL woman is to you…

Cool, confident and open hearted.

Any last advice or words of wisdom that you can share…

Make your wedding authentic to who you are. Choose the things that you personally love. That way you won’t worry about your choices. Your guests will be on an experience that is true to you, treated to the things you guys like.
