What is it you loved about your GLL gown and accessories?
It was simple, classic yet unique at the same time.
Did you go to a GLL showroom or purchase your gown online? Tell us about this experience.
I bought the Arlo gown online, I was Initially hesitant as I didn’t have a nearby showroom, but after struggling to find THE dress (6 boutiques In UK and USA!) I just trusted my gut, ordered online, sent In my measurements and had my fingers crossed that this dress would be the one. The dress arrived around 2 months before the wedding and I knew as soon as I put It on that this was what I was looking for. I ordered the Winnie Cape late – around 6 weeks before the wedding, luckily enough GLL were able to get It to me a week before the wedding. I saw the combo of the Arlo + cape on the website and I knew this would fit our venue perfectly.
Describe your wedding day look…
Simple, easy, minimalistic.
How did he propose?
During a weekend break In Turks & Caicos on the beach before the sun went down. Then we celebrated at the nearby beach bar called ‘Somewhere’. We got engaged ‘somewhere’ In Turks & Caicos!
What was your goal for your wedding / what was the most important aspect to you?
With all of our friends travelling In from USA, UK, Spain, China + Japan we wanted to pick a location that was real Ireland – we appreciated everyone using extended vacation time from work and wanted to make sure It was worth It, that they experienced history (a real castle), greenery (100 acres), a working farm (100 cows) and most Importantly endless Guiness & Whisky!
The funniest moments on the day were…
Our nephews gurgling during our vows.
Flip cup tournament as part of the wedding speeches.
My besties Lisa & Lisa doing a joint speech battling over who was the favourite Lisa!
Our friends humoring my dads jokes and pranks all day.
Our friends doing a wheel barrow race at the end of the night!
What was the most stressful part to planning?
Planning a destination wedding while part living In UK and part living In USA. The time difference, virtual management and realizing that the Irish book wedding vendors a lot more In advance than a year!
Any top beauty/health/fitness or wedding preparation advice that you can share…
I did yoga and hot yoga around 3-4 times a week leading up to the day – just to keep myself calm and collected. The day Is to celebrate you with your friends – enjoy every moment!
A GLL woman is to you…
Is someone who wants something different, modern and at the same time minimalistic.
Any last advice or words of wisdom that you can share…
You’l miss the planning once it’s over – If we could do It again we would, just to enjoy the day all over again. It’s a rarity to have all of your friends and family In the same place at the same time, enjoy it!
