Tyler + Ashley in the Inca

A romantic and elegant wedding in Barcelona, Spain, featuring our Inca gown.

How did you decide on your GLL gown and accessories?

Before the stars aligned and I found the dress of my dreams, I had gone through tons of dresses.  I wanted a lace gown but with a cool, effortless, yet still flattering, style.  I found all of this in Grace Loves Lace. After trying dresses on for months, I thought that mystical feeling of finding “The Dress” was not going to happen.  My bridesbabe Sarah, who happens to be a cool-girl Stylist in Los Angeles, came with me to the Grace Loves Lace Concierge in Venice, California.  The second I stepped out in their Inca gown we knew I found “Theeee Dress.”  The sweet Australian Stylists, glasses of champagne with rose petals, and having my best friend there made for a perfect moment.

Describe your look in three words…

Romantic, Relaxed, Organic.

How did he propose?

On our 6 year anniversary, he took me to the restaurant where we had our 1st date, so I saw it coming. We walked in and it was full of our friends and family. They started screaming when he got down on one knee and he said, “yes or yes?” I said, “yes, thank you.” We had pizza and champagne and partied all night.  We have known each other for 12 years, dated for 6 years, and were engaged for 2 years!  We have had a long and happy history before we tied the knot in June of this year.

What was your goal for your wedding / what was the most important aspect to you?

We wanted the day to feel natural, timeless, and full of historic romance. With every wedding choice we made we asked ourselves, “Is this organic elegance, yet fun, romantic, with classic touches” … wedding planning can make you just the tiniest bit crazy. It was important for us to keep ourselves centered with our ultimate goal, bringing family and friends together to make happy memories.

The funniest moments on the day were…

Our ceremony had a lot of laughs!  Between our officiant’s lighted hearted opening and my vows having a few sweet jokes, our guests were laughing (and crying) throughout the short ceremony. We did not share our vows beforehand and, since Tyler is normally the comedian in our relationship, his very serious vows made us laugh while reminiscing on our honeymoon! Oh and one of those not-funny-at-the-time-but-super-funny-later moments – when all the girls started hair and makeup, the electrical converter I brought along blew up in smoke when we plugged in the curling iron.  Luckily, my friend and hairstylist Quinn, is talented and saved the day by creating “perfectly undone” looks.

What was the most stressful part to planning?

Honestly, I struggle with indecision in my everyday life so being faced with hundreds of choices from venues to food to photographers meant I had to learn to trust my instincts.  We chose to work with good spirited people, let them use their creativity, and they made the wedding of our dreams stress free.

Any top beauty/health/fitness or wedding preparation advice that you can share…

After the 15 hour flight from Los Angeles to Barcelona, I was worried about jet lag and the effect it can have on my skin. My bridesbabe Sarah recommended the Boscia Charcoal Pore-Minimizing Hydrogel Mask and I used it the night before the wedding to feel glowy in the morning!

A GLL woman is to you…

She is herself, whatever that may be. Charming, witty, and a little wild …

Any last advice or words of wisdom that you can share…
