For the contemporary bride looking for a classic ring, the Poppy, with a large 8mm solitaire cut stone, was designed exclusively for GLL by our Founder, Megan Ziems, alongside the talented Natalie Marie. This delicate and feminine ring features a 14 carat 1.2-1.4mm band with an 8mm solitaire cut morganite stone. The Poppy ring is available in yellow gold, rose gold or white gold.
Morganite is a natural, semi-precious stone which varies in colour from peach-pink-champagne. The stones used are natural, therefore they will vary. Each stone is sourced specifically for each ring, so there may be a slight variation of colour between stones.
The images show the Poppy ring in yellow gold. The gold and morganite combined creates a beautiful, unique tone. The Poppy ring is pure magic.
What is a morganite?
Morganite is a natural, semi-precious stone which varies in colour from peach - pink - champagne. It's graded as 7.5-8 on the mohs hardness scale. The stones are natural and do vary, each stone is sourced for each ring, and for this collaboration we are using peach/champagne morganites throughout. There can be some slight variation in colour between stones, but they should be very similar. The colour of the metal under the stone will effect the colour appearance of the stone. For example, a sample in rose gold will make the stone appear a warmer, pinker colour due to the pink tone under the stone. Whereas white gold under the stone will ‘cool’ down the colour slightly.
How do I choose my ring size?
If you are ordering online, it's highly recommended to be sized professionally rather than using online sizers or measuring finger circumference, etc. Any jeweller can size a finger, so we recommend heading to a professional jeweller locally to determine the right size. The ring in image 1 is a size Small.
How long will it take to make and receive?
Production will take 8 weeks from the time of ordering to delivery. A delivery confirmation will be sent prior to the ring being shipped out from GLL HQ. International orders are sent via DHL Express, which takes between 3-7 business days to arrive. Domestic orders are sent via Australian Express Post, which takes between 1-3 business days to arrive.
Where is the morganite sourced from?
Natalie Marie source the morganite stones from a trusted supplier in the USA. The reason why they work with this particular supplier is because he runs a small family business and works within strict ethical and sustainability guidelines. Working with only 2 family run mines, he visits the mines several times a year to maintain a close relationship and ensure the miners are being paid directly, fairly and well. He also follows this ethos through the cutting process.
