Ade & Prescillia in the Goldie Gown
Prescillia and Ade tied the knot in Johannesburg, South Africa. It was the perfect place to celebrate their love, being where they first met. The wedding celebration was filled with elements true to their strong cultural heritage, with timeless and classic touches.Â
Â
The Love Story
Prescillia and Ade's love story began in South Africa. Ade had moved to Johannesburg from the United Kingdom years ago, while Prescillia, originally from Paris, was on vacation at the time. As their bond grew stronger, they arranged to meet each other's extended families in London.Â
Â
After dinner with their families in London, Ade walked Prescillia back to the underground station after dinner. Eventually, the conversations stretched on, from station to station. This night marked the beginning of their tradition: taking long walks through cities after dinner. Â

A Timeless and Elegant Wedding in Johannesburg, South Africa
Prescillia and Ade tied the knot in Johannesburg, South Africa, the place where they first met. Â
The ceremony was held at The Ground, a family farm transformed into a stunning venue, welcoming guests from all over the world. Prescillia’s wedding vision was to create a minimalist yet meaningful celebration that honored their diverse cultures: a perfect blend of elegance and timelessness, both indoors and outdoors. The wedding took place in a beautiful white shed structure with glass walls that had been built on the farm.
Â
Prescillia envisioned their future children looking back at the wedding photos and feeling inspired. “When you looked around, you could see the Magalie burg mountains, the farm's vineyard, the forest, and the tobacco shed.” Prescillia shares. After the ceremony, the "vin d'honneur" (wine and canapĂ©s) was held on the lawn outside the tobacco shed. It was the perfect moment for the couple to have some private time and capture photos with their nearest and dearest. The reception was held in the converted tobacco shed on the farm; a beautiful space that was perfect for their celebrations and enjoying some of the finest wines and delicious dishes.Â

A Strong Cultural Heritage
Considering the cultural heritage of the two newlyweds, Prescillia being French and Congolese and Ade being English with Nigerian heritage, incorporating African elements into the wedding was very important to the couple. The color theme was navy blue and gold and guests wore handmade Fila hats and Gele head ties. The bridesmaid dresses were designed by Prescillia's friend, which made them extra special.Â
Â
Ade opted for a classic look, wearing a sharp black tuxedo. The groomsmen wore a Nigerian buba and shokoto (top and trousers) in the same design as the outfit Ade wore to their traditional Congolese wedding a year earlier, but in navy blue and gold. In both Nigerian and Congolese traditions, the bride and groom would change into native clothes halfway through the reception. However, the couple decided to stay in their attire and tuxedo and simply added a gele and fila in a slightly different shade of gold, a nod to their tradition.Â

Saying Yes to The Goldie
Prescillia had a specific vision: something elegant and comfortable. She brought her maid of honor all the way from France to help her find the dream gown in our Grace Loves Lace London boutique. Prescillia tried on a few dresses before falling in love with Goldie. "It was an instant connection. Simple, elegant, and exactly my style," she said. Prescillia was greeted by Grace Stylist, Yasmine, who happened to speak French too. 'The vibe was so cozy, fun, and warm – truly unforgettable,' she recalled, whilst raising a glass of champagne together.Â

“A Grace woman to me is elegant, free, and aligned with herself. She's not trying to impress anyone or follow any trends, she has this ''je ne sais quoi'' that makes her timeless: she is just herself.”Â

A Toast to Happily Ever After
They say wedding toasts are not necessarily perfect, but heartfelt; the newlyweds were no exception. Prescillia shares that the wedding speeches happened to be the funniest moment of her day and loved hearing the thoughtful jokes from her loved ones representing her style evolution over the years and Ade’s tendency to take a nap wherever and whenever it pleases him.Â
A Personal Touch
Prescillia turned her wedding dreams into reality by starting with a mood board, setting the tone for the entire celebration. She added her personal touch and handcrafted all the invitations and organized a unique experience for all her guests.Â
Â
Two days before the wedding, the couple invited everyone to an intimate guest dinner. Following the celebrations, the couple hosted an unforgettable safari experience, ensuring everyone could experience the natural beauty of South Africa.  On your special day, Prescillia’s words of wisdom is to live in the moment and be present. “Take a moment out of the day, just for the two of you. The whole day will fly by, so you'll appreciate having a few minutes to savor!”.Â
