Alex & Ellie in the Coco Gown
Loved up couple Ellie and new hubby Alex exchange vows at their romantic yet bohemian-themed wedding.
A Grace woman to you is...
Someone who likes to have a bit of fun and wants to move away from traditional style.
Which Grace dress did you choose and how did you know it was 'The One'?
I loved the star details in my Coco Gown and the Starry Night Choker. They tied in so perfectly with my theme of the day and the gown was soo incredibly comfortable and easy to dance in.
Tell us about your experience when you found your dress, did you buy your wedding dress online or in one of our showrooms?
I visited the Gold Coast Showroom with my bridal party. It was such a beautiful experience. Coco was actually the first gown I tried on and I knew right away I had to wear it.
Describe your wedding day look...
Whimsical, Romantic & Bohemian
How did he propose?
While having a picnic in front of a vintage airstream, watching the sun set and the moon rise, over the desert in Joshua Tree. Listening to Fleetwood Mac on record. For this reason we decided to have picnic style seating, a vintage airstream bar and some galaxy (stars/moon/sun) theming.
What was your goal for your wedding / what was the most important aspect to you?
We really just wanted to be able to relax and enjoy our day. We also wanted all our guests to feel like they were experiencing parts of us, to make our wedding very ‘us’.
The funniest moment on the day was…
While we were already running very late for the ceremony, my sister (maid of honour) was trying to work out how to drive the Vintage EH Holden, it was a stressful but funny moment. The speeches were also really funny.
What was the most stressful part to planning?
Trying to find bridesmaid dresses. We hired a wedding planner/stylist/co-ordinator and I must say this made the whole experience so much fun and less stressful.
Any top beauty/health/fitness or wedding preparation advice that you can share…
Have your friends/bridemaids/family/your fiancé join you on the ‘wed prep’ or as we called it ‘wed shred’. It makes it so much more fun! Make sure anything that is being delivered is scheduled to arrive at least a week before so you are not stressed about any delays. And, make lists!
Any last advice or words of wisdom that you can share…
Enjoy every second, it really goes so fast! Try to make time for a moment in the day when its just you and your fiancé.
