Kane & Georgie in the Summer
A relaxed countryside wedding, featuring our signature Alexandra gown.
What is a Grace Woman to you?
A free-spirited woman who carries herself with confidence and grace.
Which GRACE dress did you choose and how did you know it was 'The One'?
I chose the Summer Silk Dress paired with the Pearly Long Veil. I had my eye on this dress for a long time so naturally it was the first one I tried on. I instantly fell in love with it as I felt like "me"! It was elegant, effortless and comfortable (I wanted to make sure I could dance the night away).
Tell us about your experience when you found your dress, did you buy your wedding dress online or in one of our showrooms?
I had the most wonderful experience at the GLL showroom in Burleigh Heads with my Mum and one of my bridesmaids. We sipped on bubbles and played dress ups for the morning! Megan, my stylist was so helpful and made the process so calm and easy.
How did you feel in your dress on the day?
100% like myself! This was so important when choosing my dress. I wanted to feel comfortable, elegant and feminine as I walked down the aisle to marry the love of my life.
Where did you get married?
Tell us about the location & the style of your wedding day.
We were married by the beach at Lovers Rock which holds such a special place in our hearts. We held our ceremony at Ancora on the Tweed River which was absolutely beautiful. We really wanted a relaxed seaside wedding and achieved this by keeping the colours light and airy, filling the room with beautiful dried florals in white and neutral tones. We were so lucky that everything magically fell into place for our special day!
Tell us about your hair and makeup look
and the accessories you chose…
My beautiful best friend and bridesmaid is a hairdresser and I trusted her entirely to work her magic. We went with a soft side part, loose tousled waves and finished it off with my Pearly Long Veil. For makeup I went with a natural sun kissed dewy look, with a bronzed eyeshadow and a nude lip. My jewellery was sentimental and understated. I wore my Sarah and Sebastian “G” necklace, a piece I never take off, along with gold pearl drop earrings and dainty pearl bracelet, a gift from Kane.
What made your day extra special?
After such uncertainty throughout the year and having to postpone the wedding and not knowing if we were even able to have it, it was so special that all of our friends and family were able to travel and join us for our special day. Also hearing my husband’s heartfelt vows filled me with so much joy and happiness and I couldn’t wait to say “I do”.
The funniest moment on the day was…
We’ve always laughed at how many times Kane has broken his knuckles over the years and could not contain ourselves when the ring just would not go on!! There’s no way it’s ever coming off, that’s for sure!
Where will you be honeymooning?
We had originally planned our dream trip to Europe for our honeymoon, a first time for both of us which we were so excited about. Sadly, we were not able to go in 2020 but have postponed it, something for us to look forward to.
Any last advice or words of wisdom that you can share…
Some advice from a friend that really resonated with me, was during the reception, to go and find your husband and find a quiet place together to look back at everyone and really take it all in. It really does go by so quickly and it was so nice to savor that special moment together.
