Ryan & Ariella in the Anu Gown
Ryan and Ariella tied the knot in a luxury escape nestled in Brisbane, Queensland. The celebration was modern and intimate, infused with greenery, white flowers, and architectural accents.
The Proposal
Not many can say they experienced a proposal quite like what Ryan organised for Ariella.
On their first date, the couple attended a concert at the historic Palais Theatre in Melbourne. Think 1920s grand architecture with high ceilings and intricate details, you can understand why the date left such a lasting impression on the couple.
Little did Ariella know it would not be the last time they would visit the theatre together, with Ryan intent on making it the scene of a milestone in their love story.
One year later, Ryan, a musician himself, would hire out the entire theatre to propose to his soon-to-be bride, Ariella. A true testament to the love and adoration shared between the two!

Etheral Greenery & Grand Architecture: The Calile Hotel
Ariella and Ryan’s wedding took place at the luxurious Calile Hotel in Brisbane, Queensland, where they instantly fell in love with the architectural elements of the venue. From the touchstones of white brick to concrete façades and geometric landscaping, the venue was infused with elegance and luxury. Arielle especially loved “the growing greenery around and inside the entire venue”, setting the perfect scene for their beautiful day.
The celebration was designed by the newlyweds themselves. They knew exactly what they were looking for: simplicity, raw materials, and linens mixed with massive amounts of ethereal greenery and white florals. Ryan also made a sentimental contribution to the overall aesthetic of the wedding by adding his personal touch to the ceremony. Ariella shares, "my husband actually made the seating you see in the wedding ceremony; he spent hours working on them after work each night." The giant wood block seating was a unique element, making the overall aesthetic of the ceremony truly theirs.

A Fresh Take on Bridal Parties
A Fresh Take on Bridal Parties
While a bridal party is a non-negotiable for most couples, Ariella and Ryan wanted to opt for something a little different. Saying ‘goodbye’ to bridesmaids and groomsman altogether, the couple enlisted the help of 12 flower children to commemorate the occasion. Arielle shared that the decision "added a gorgeous and meaningful touch for the big day."
One of the most memorable, and funniest, moments of the ceremony was when one of the younger page boys decided to walk up to the celebrant, his father, to announce to the whole wedding that he had to go to the bathroom. Thankfully, he picked his moment wisely and didn’t interrupt the vows. What he did do was cause guests to laugh in amusement – the perfect ice breaker for a wedding ceremony. Ariella’s advice to future brides with a similar idea - "ensure your kids use the bathroom prior to your walk down the aisle!"

The Experience Behind the Dress
Ariella’s bridal journey began in the original Grace Loves Lace boutique in Burleigh Heads. She was a woman who knew what she was looking for and had always envisioned herself as a Grace Bride.
The bride’s brief? She wanted a dress that was beautiful and comfortable! As Ariella was encouraged to select some gowns to try on, there was one that stood out – Anu. After trying the gown on for the first time, she felt instant chemistry, saying ‘I do’ in her very first appointment. Ariella loved that Anu "was classic and simple with the silk material, but yet so detailed in the shoulder draping and the open tie back". Now, looking at their wedding photos, you can see that Anu truly was the perfect match for the couple’s minimalist, yet modern city wedding.

Words of Wisdom
Ariella had been warned by brides before her that the day would go quickly. One minute, you're getting dressed and pampered; the next moment, it's time to wave farewell to your guests.
Ariella took this onboard, sharing "I was 100% present, whether it be getting my hair done or walking down the aisle. It’s important to enjoy the single little moments and be fully present because the day goes by so fast. Make the most of the day and make the most of the memories."
