Travel Diaries: Grace Takes Paris

Our head designer, Rosie, recently took a whirlwind trip to Paris, immersing herself in the city’s art, culture, and fashion. This trip allowed her to source inspiration from the very heart of it all, blending vintage shopping with contemporary trends. Rosie went well equipped with a to-do list to be sure she hit all the right spots from art exhibitions and fashion shows to Parisian coffee nooks and vintage stores. We can’t wait to see how Paris’ energy inspires our next collection. Stay tuned!

The streets of Paris were alive with excitement—fashion shows and art exhibitions around every corner. Rosie couldn’t help but visit the Picasso Museum, where she could feel the abstract inspiration just beneath her feet. At the shows, YSL and Dolce & Gabbana left a lasting impression.

"What stood out to me was the incredible detail and craftsmanship in every garment. It’s a true reflection of who we are at Grace—the countless hours and hands that go into each of our pieces."

Rosie had the chance to catch up with our longest-standing suppliers and our lead lace designer to review sketches for the year’s upcoming collections. "The buzz at the fairs was all about fabrics, mood, colour palettes, and sustainability. Taking a moment to stop and slow down to truly reflect on the design process and what’s being produced." Rosie recaps that it was all about returning to handcrafted techniques—"like crochet blended with modern tech.” Fabrics that feel beautifully handmade but are lightweight and fluid, and colours inspired by organic tones fused with digital hues. It’s a perfect mix of the past and future, beautifully crafted for today’s bride.

Amidst the shows, Rosie found time for vintage shopping and appreciated the contrast between Australian and Parisian department stores. A double shot of coffee was essential at this point—as the days flew by and her feet ached, she managed to squeeze every drop of inspiration from her time in Paris.
