Madison and Kane in Suki

Madison wears Suki to marry Kane at Sandon Point Boat Sheds, before surprising family and friends with news of their secret wedding.

Where it all began

It started with a swipe right on Valentine's Day, an oddly fitting beginning for two people who would go on to build something this steady. Their first date was mini golf at Holey Moley, cocktails in hand, conversation stretching long past the final hole. There was no slow build, no uncertainty. The connection was there from the start.

What followed happened quickly but never felt rushed. Within months they were building a life together, discovering that the things they loved most weren't grand at all: Scrabble nights, bowling, watching the footy, Sunday dinners with family. Ordinary moments, made better simply by being shared.

For Madison, the certainty came from how easy it all felt. Kane became her safe place and her biggest supporter; the person she wanted beside her for both the milestones and the unremarkable Tuesdays. He made her laugh. He brought a steadiness to her life she hadn't realised she'd been missing.

Their relationship was never defined by one big moment. It was built in the daily choosing, over and over. With Kane, Madison found that home was never a place. It was him.

Narooma, A New Kind of Meaning

The proposal took place in Narooma, a place that had already earned its way into their story long before Kane got down on one knee. Sunset, seals playing in the water below, the sky turning gold as the ocean caught the last of the light. For a moment, time seemed to stand still.

It wasn't the grand gesture or the audience that made it unforgettable. It was the setting itself, somewhere Madison and Kane had returned to again and again, now holding a new kind of meaning. Just the two of them, in a place that already felt like theirs, talking about forever.

A Secret Worth Keeping

Madison and Kane were married at Sandon Point Boat Sheds, an intimate elopement ceremony with only their immediate families present, chosen for its relaxed, unpretentious feel and its sweeping coastal views.

Rain had been forecast all week, but the morning broke clear and blue. After the ceremony, they wandered through the coastline for photos, stopping for ice cream as newlyweds before heading off to get ready for the evening.

That night, they celebrated at Connie's Rooftop at The Corrimal Hotel, where family and friends arrived believing they were attending an engagement party. The reveal that Madison and Kane had already married that morning brought tears, laughter and disbelief, turning the celebration into something even bigger than anyone had planned.

An Instant Knowing

Finding her gown was one of Madison's favourite parts of the wedding journey, made all the more special by sharing it with just her mum. From the moment they arrived, stylist Jenna made the experience feel effortless, taking the time to understand what Madison liked and guiding her through the process with warmth.

Madison chose Suki, a sleek column gown cut from luxe pearl satin, its cowl neckline and low back designed to catch the light without ever feeling like too much. Bias-cut to skim the body, the silhouette gave her the natural, unfussy elegance she'd been after, something that felt like her.

The moment she put it on, Madison knew. It wasn't about transformation. It was about feeling like the best version of herself, comfortable enough to wear all day and elegant enough to match the intimate, laid-back spirit of the wedding she and Kane were building. Looking in the mirror, she could already picture walking down the aisle to him. She'd found the one.

Advice for future brides

Her advice to future Grace brides: "Eat and drink on your wedding day! Everyone tells you this, but it's so easy to get caught up in the excitement and forget. The day goes by incredibly quickly and looking after yourself can easily become an afterthought."

"I'd also say don't spend the day worrying about getting your dress dirty," she adds. "Wear it, dance in it, hug people in it and make memories in it. By the end of the day, those little marks and signs of wear are a reflection of a day well lived and well loved."

"Most importantly, take a few moments throughout the day to pause, look around and soak it all in. It goes by so quickly, and you'll want to remember every second."
