Scott and Carrie in the Goldie Gown
Carrie and Scott got married in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina just outside of Asheville. In June, Asheville is lush, green and in full bloom - making this the perfect time of year to tie the knot.
The First Moments
Scott and Carrie's love story began during a gym session in downtown Austin. As they left the fitness club, they talked for hours outside. Eventually, Scott asked if she would go on a date with him that night.
After burning a few calories, both were very hungry and needed some energy. As every restaurant was closed, organising  the date was a challenging one so they stopped into a little bodega downtown and grabbed a couple of snacks. After finding a bench to sit and eat, they talked for hours. "It felt like the rest of the city slept; we had downtown to ourselves," shared Carrie. The date eventually ended with an impromptu dip in Lady Bird Lake that runs through the middle of the city.Â
An Eco-Friendly Wedding Theme in the Blue Ridge Mountains, Asheville
The couple tied the knot in the Blue Ridge Mountains, just outside of Asheville. As their dearest friends and family members originated from Texas, moving to Asheville to celebrate the couple’s love and discover their new hometown was an ideal opportunity.Â
The celebration unfolded in summer. "Everything was lush, green, and in full bloom; the beauty of the nature around us was breathtaking". To complement Mother Nature, the couple opted for an organic wedding theme, choosing earth tones to harmonize their surroundings.Â
Crafting personalized signs and her very own dancing sneakers was one of the brides special touches. Whilst Carrie crafted all signage herself, she outsourced the welcome sign which unfortunately arrived with the incorrect date. Not to worry – Carrie just chopped off the bottom of the sign and moved on! Â
Carrie loved the idea of the big reveal at the altar and didn't go for a first look. The couple's vision was to ensure their first special moment together would be at the ceremony. Eventually, Scott had other ideas to make it special for his newlywed wife.Â
Soon after Carrie put her wedding dress on, the photographer had her step outside and handed over a love note from Scott. It was a thoughtful gesture to maintain a touch of privacy before exchanging vows. "It was so special to read a few sweet words from him before the ceremony.” It didn't stop there either." Throughout the reception, Scott continued to slip these little notes to Carrie until the end of the night.Â
Saying Yes to the Dress
As a bride, Carrie envisioned herself as a woman who marches to the beat of her own drum. "One who challenges the way things have always been and forges a new path for herself," she shares.Â
When visiting our Dallas showroom, the bride recalls the experience to be "helpful and wonderful."At that time, Carrie was not particularly worried about finding the dress so soon however loved the first dress she ever tried on, Goldie. "The material felt luxurious without being too much. It felt like me," she shares.
Words of Wisdom
The bride's words of wisdom are to take care of yourself during the wedding process. “Self-care was a huge staple in my wedding planning. Remember what this is all about - the love you share with your partner and being able to celebrate that with everyone you love!”, she shares. Ultimately, if something does not go according to plan, it’s important to know that only you may notice it. It always works out.
