GLL: Congratulations on your recent wedding, you looked stunning! Tell us how and why you chose your GLL gown?
Thank you! Before Corey and I got engaged, I’d seen a photo of the Colette gown online and fell in love. Living in the US and not being able to try on the gown, I wasn’t sure how realistic ordering a wedding dress online was, so I began my search for something local. The search was unsuccessful and every other dress I tried on just never compared to how perfect I knew the Colette gown would be. After receiving a sample of the fabric in the mail, I decided to pull the trigger and am SO happy that I did. The gown checked off all the wedding dress “must-have” boxes for me — it was comfortable, it fit our wedding location, and most importantly, I felt beautiful in it.
GLL: So tell us, how did you both meet?
Corey is a good friend of my brother’s. We knew each other for a number of years before we became a couple.
GLL: Was it love at first sight or was it a slow burn kinda situation?
Probably not love at first sight, though I did think he was adorable. More like a great friendship that grew into something much, much more.
GLL: What first attracted you to your partner?
GLL: And the proposal? How did that go down?
Corey proposed to me on a camping trip, just the two of us and our dog, in the middle of the Alvord Desert. It was all so surreal. Aside from our wedding day, it was a day I would re-live in a heartbeat.
GLL: How did you feel on your day and how did you style your GLL look?
Most importantly, I wanted to feel like myself on our wedding day. I knew that’s what Corey would want too. I did my own hair and makeup and kept the look very simple. Ultimately, being a slightly dressed up version of myself is what makes me feel the most beautiful.
GLL: Where did you get inspiration from for your wedding?
Our wedding took place on the Oregon Coast in my hometown so we knew we wanted to keep things true to the surroundings and not overdue it with decorations. Our last name is Green so we played off that and did only greenery instead of florals. We were pretty selective with our vendors and knew that whatever they created for our day would be perfect. Simplicity was key for us.
GLL: Describe your wedding in 3 words…
Intimate, laid-back, pure.
GLL: What was your most memorable moment?
I think walking down the aisle, towards my handsome husband-to-be, holding both my parents hands, was certainly the best moment of the day for me. We had a standing ceremony so we truly felt comforted, supported and so loved, surrounded by the people that mean the most to us.
GLL: What was your wedding song / playlist?
One of my best childhood friends, who also happened to be my first “boyfriend” (as a 10-year-old), played the ukulele and sang our first dance song — Grow Old With Me by Tom Odell.
GLL: And where are you honeymooning?
Corey and I took off for our honeymoon the day after the wedding. We flew into Paris and road- tripped down to the south of France, making our way through Saint-Tropez, Nice, Cinque Terre, Tuscany, Rome and ending in Positano on the Amalfi coast of Italy. It was magical!
GLL: What did you find the easiest and hardest thing about planning a wedding?
The easiest was knowing that whatever hiccups may happen throughout the day, at the end of it all, I would be marrying the man I love. The hardest.. the last few weeks before the wedding, making sure all the final details came together.
GLL: Any top tips or advice you can give fellow GLL brides (beauty, health & wellness, planning etc)?
It’s easy to get caught up in everything a wedding is “suppose to be”, be true to yourself and who you are as a couple and your day will be perfect.
GLL: Describe your GLL experience…
It was all so wonderful. It’s certainly a gamble to order a wedding dress online, but the GLL team made me feel so comfortable and were there to answer any questions I had. Best decision I made.. aside from marrying Corey, of course ;)
GLL: What does marriage mean to you?
It means having a teammate, partner and best friend though everything life sends your way.
