What is it you loved about your GLL gown and accessories?
How easy it was to move around in my Francis gown! I tried on a lot of dresses before I went to GLL and didn’t feel comfortable even walking around in them, let alone dancing. GLL gown’s almost feel like you’re naked. The lace is so comfortable, and they accentuate where they are supposed to!
Did you go to a GLL showroom or purchase your gown online? Tell us about this experience.
After a couple different visits to different bridal boutiques in Phoenix and LA I finally made an appointment at the LA showroom. My stylist was Bec and she was amazing. The first time I went, I brought two of my best friends/ bridesmaids who live in LA, and we did the whole experience, I ended up picking my dress right then and there and we celebrated with champagne!
Describe your wedding day look…
Elegant, natural & fun
How did he propose?
After 6 years of dating (we met in college). Luke proposed at my dad’s birthday party at the Sanctuary Resort, in Scottsdale. He had asked my dad for permission a couple months before (In Coeur d’ Alene actually!), and then asked my mom to help him plan the proposal. They knew It would be hard to keep a secret from me, so they used my dad’s birthday as a decoy. My family and friends are all very close so Luke knew he could get them to come to the party without me getting suspicious. When we arrived at the party, Luke walked me down to the grass to “take some pictures”, and got down on one knee- all my friends and family were able to watch from the balcony above and we all celebrated after!
What was your goal for your wedding / what was the most important aspect to you?
Well, I wanted to look FAB! haha! Most Importantly we wanted to have fun. My husband and I knew that It was going to be a roudy crew, so we weren’t too worried. I just wanted to make sure we soaked in what an amazing weekend It was, and how happy we were the people we love the most were able to share that with us.
The funniest moments on the day were…
All my friends and family know that I love singing karaoke- even though my voice is terrible. I ended up getting enough courage to go up on stage at the reception to sing “I Will Always Love You” by Whitney Houston, to my husband, and all of our friends and family.
Everything about my bridesmaids is hilarious. We giggled the entire day together. Especially when It was time to walk down the aisle- we had a bottle of tequila and were toasting as we were walking down the aisle.
Also- my twin brother, Tommy, was the officiant at our wedding, and he absolutely crushed It! He was hysterical which I think really set the tone for the entire evening.
What was the most stressful part to planning?
The most stressful part of planning was getting the logistics of the travel/events In order for the weekend. Most of our guests stayed in the town of Coeur d’ Alene, but the venue was across the lake. So figuring out how everyone was going to get back and forth when uber/lyft aren’t always available was tough.
Any top beauty/health/fitness or wedding preparation advice that you can share…
Don’t let yourself get too stressed out! It’s the happiest day of your life!
I have always been very into fitness, so I didn’t have to change my routine too much, but I definitely cranked It up a bit after our engagement and started doing a more cardio and Pilates to get “wedding ready”.
As for eating healthy, I tried not to limit myself or else I would go crazy!
I’d say the last two months before our wedding was when I really dialed it in on the clean eating (I had to keep drinking wine though!)
A GLL woman is to you…
Elegant and fun!
Any last advice or words of wisdom that you can share…
